best time to circumcise (Page 4)

Best time for circumcisim
My son is not circumcised, but i wanted to say to u do what u feel is right. I didn't do it because i did my research and nothing that I found gave me reason enough to put my son thru any amount of pain for however long it takes. When i asked family they just spoke on him being like them in a choice they didn't make. Cleanliness was another worry that i had, but I have no problem taking the proper steps I need to to make sure my child is clean and teaching him to do so, I do it for my daughter why not do it for my son. Plus, if something happens to where he needs to get done he can always do it, but if he's fine with it nothing was lost.

It's my job to take care of my children not tear the apart.

Circumcision is basically turning an internal organ into an external organ.

We can't put links up here but people thinking of
circumcision should research thoroughly.

I suggest you look into how many babies each year in
America have their penises removed completely because of
complications due to circumcision.
There is also statistic figures on the death rates of babies from complications as well.

You have the right to decide but please don't think it is a simple snip.

U know u guys can make a different thread for this topic. However the topic is "when". The hospital prefers before u leave the hospital, so about when the child is 2 days old because the first month the child hasn't really developed a proper nerve system so can't feel so much pain as an older baby would... But my pediatrician disagrees n says after 2 weeks, due to the four skin growing back before that..

I had my sons done just before I left the Hospital, but is grew back n looks so goss dangling, so I had it redone when he was 6 months old n it was so sad because he was bigger.. But such a cute n perfict willi now... I just wish I would have donr it when he was tow weeks old to avoid that.

To answer the original question: if done within 28 days after birth, it can be done with local anesthesia for $300 or $400 (some doctors have shorter or longer timing - so you will need to call around). There is no adjustment for prematurity. Once you cross the 28 day window, it will become a general anethesia procedure for $2,000 or $3,000, so you will have to wait until 6 months at least. Our baby was born 6 weeks early, so by the time of his normal due date, it was too late.
