been checking my cervix and it is high.

User Profile
I am not on any type of birth control. I get my period every 28 days and it lasts 5-6 days. I had my period on Dec 31st and it lasted three days. On the third day it was so light. Then on jan 14th I noticed that evening there was brownish reddish discharge. Then the next day it was like a period and I bleed until Sat. I was not supposed to start my period until jan. 28th. Is this normal? I have also been checking my cervix and it is high.

Early Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms Answer A41789
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The lighter and shorter periods, brown spotting/discharge, high cervix that you describe could be suggestive of few of early symptoms of pregnancy. Wait and watch for your periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.
