Sensation of someone walking on bed./Restless leg syndrone..
My elderly mother has been having these sensations of someone walking on her bed.My dad passed about 3 years ago.She seems to think it is him, because she will talk to him, tell him about her day, tell him about the kids, grandkids, and the whole time she is talking it stops. Also it has happened during the day with her just sitting on the side of the bed.She is not afraid, just curious. She and my dad were married 60 years. It is a mystery.

sleep paralysis/ bed
You can try all the scientific answers & answers about pillow tops
But i dont have a pillow top matress neither is my body trembling
Or vibrating when i feel my bed move. I think its somethin frm the spiritual realm but watever it is has never harmed me. I pray & it stops. Same with sleep paralysis (devil ridin your back) as soon as i start to say the 23rd psalm.. im free to move. Call me dingy, or watever but watever it is is no match for the power of prayer. Dark forces cant stand to hear the lords holy name. & i dont think that what it (watever it is) stopping as soon as i say The Lord is my sheppard is a coincidence

Ghost shook my bed - Hypnagogic Hallucinations - Sleep Paralysis
I can't believe I never Googled "bed shaking" till now. I've wondered about this my entire life. My whole career (my website) has been built upon my search for answers. But for me it wasn't JUST the bed shaking. This may freak some of you out, but much more happened.

As a child of around seven years old, there were several occasions where I saw ghosts in my bedroom. On at least one occasion that I recall I awoke to see a female ghost standing in my doorway. When she saw that I had awoken she began floating towards me, arms outstretched (I know how creepy this sounds and I'm so sorry...) I covered my head with the covers and I screamed for my mother, but I could still see the woman in my mind's eye and she was next to my bed now, reaching out to touch me (or the bed). I was terrified beyond belief! Then I felt the whole bed being violently shaken. After a few seconds of this, and with me still screaming, my mother rushed in to help. The shaking stopped and the ghost disappeared. The incident really traumatized me badly. I could never talk to my mom and dad about what was happening. I somehow just knew, even at that age, that it wasn't something I should mention. My whole life I've felt different than everyone else because of what happened during childhood.

After the ghosts stopped coming (I don't know what made them stop), my sleep life was uneventful until age 16. It was then that I suffered an accidental drug overdose and died. I was given CPR by my boyfriend so I survived, but for up to a year afterward I suffered from extreme sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations. Once I "awoke" to see an evil man standing over me. I thought he wanted to rape me, but instead he pulled a razor-knife out and sliced my Achilles tendon (like on the movie Pet Semetery, which I had seen previous to that). The cut hurt badly and I woke in pain.

Another time, I "woke up" and got out of bed. I walked out of my room and down the hallway to the bathroom. As soon as I walked over the bathroom threshold I floated straight up to the ceiling. I didn't understand that I was having an OBE since I had never heard of anything like that before. I floated there, scared, with my back against the ceiling, wondering how I was going to get down from there, when suddenly a man appeared in the doorway below me. He looked a little like Cheech Marin and he was kinda smiling at me, like he thought it was pretty funny seeing me that way. He seemed to know me, but I didn't know him. He reached a hand up to me and I reached down to grab it. As soon as our hands met I awoke in my bed with a start, sitting straight up, wondering what the hell just happened.

I've had many OBEs and other various weird things that have happened since that time. I still don't know what causes these things to happen, but the more stories I read, the more I'm inclined to believe that spirits are involved. My own experiences certainly seem to indicate that that's the case. I can't believe that out of all these people who've had their bed shaken, I've only read one or two who have noticed a spirit being there.

Another thing is that when my bed was shaking, I was in a bunk bed. My sister was on the bottom bunk. She's a heavy sleeper anyway, but I would've thought that the shaking should have woken her if the bed was shaking as hard as it felt to me. I've often wondered if it was my spirit that was shaking, not my bed, but after reading all of these accounts I'm inclined to believe it WAS the bed and that my sister just slept through it like she sleeps through everything else.

Sleep Paralysis???
I have felt my bed shake for 7 years now. It only happens like once a month. Last night my bed was shaking. At first i wasn't sure if was the bed or my body so I picked my hand up and it was steady. I fealt like I was being watched. I got up out of bed checked on my daughter went to the bathroom and went back to bed. I have been told that this can be a form of sleep paralysis but I don't see how. I feel mobile and was able to move and walk freely. I do beleive that the shaky bed is a halucination. I also hear a disturbing female voice & often cannot talk(which could be associated with sleep paralysis) How can you have sleep paralysis if in fact you are not paralysed in any way????

My sister in law and i have Vibrations almost everyday
I believe Bed vibrations are actually inner body vibrations from your spirit within. An evil spirit or the Holy spirit. My sister in law and i have been on a spiritual journey together for about 2 years and we both been getting the vibrations durring the day and at night.I can feel them at my house and her house. they dont scare me it just feels weird. But It makes me realize how close Jesus is to coming back. Im not sure if you should pray it away unless it is a unpleasent feeling. Are you a christian? if not you may want to consider being one and allow the holy spirit to come in and take over your body.

Vibrating Bed Phenomenon
Hi. I am really relieved so many other people experience this. There are some interesting theories. At first, I was rather anxious and afraid. Now I enjoy it, and look forward to it. It feels very comforting and relaxing. I would suggest to everyone that they should relax and trust that everything is ok. It is definitely completely safe and completely harmless, so absolutely nothing to fear. I really enjoy it.

Now what does it mean?

There is no scientific explanation - this is a spiritual phenomenon. (I read some strange theories about bodily vibrations - this definitely comes from the bed vibrating not my body vibrating - I would be able to feel the difference.)

Feel free to email me for further exploration

I think this is fun!!!!

One thing I should mention is when I went to the sleep specialist he told me that all the things I feel durning a sleep paralysis episode are hallucinations. People that have sleep paralysis have auditory, visual,or tactile hallucinations (one or all) I have auditory. I was tested for narcolepsy and it was negative. My son has visual and auditory. Lucky for him I was able to tell him when he was a child what it was when he told me what was happening when he was falling asleep. Both my sons have this and my nephew. It's probably hereditary

This has been happening to me for years. There are some key points which have led me to believe that the explanation has to be something more than an everyday answer, such as the washer being used. This is because: it happens during anytime of the day, whether I am on a bed for sleep or not; I am wide awake; It has happened on several different beds around different parts of the States; I make sure I myself am not shaking; and I check to see if there are any machines running and there never is; i've never been diagnosed with a mental disorder nor do I have a history of hallucinations; finally, every other part of my life is in order and have no signs of a mental disorder.
The shaking is not violent, but is very noticeable. Of course, at first, I thought it was a ghost, but there has to be other ideas and reasoning out there. Recently I heard a talk from a notable scientist (Michio Kaku) about the possibility of people from the future in invisibility cloaks and that this may be possible.

I have to be skeptical about this and wonder about all of the possibilities with reason. It is odd to hear people having similar experiences with similar conclusions. It being a ghost is a typical answer, but someone from the future in a cloak is a lot more interesting I think Smile But seriously. . . what is it!?

I just found this forum and was amazed to read the number of comments from people that have experienced this phenomenon. First let me state that I am a skeptic, however with that being said, 2 nights ago I experience something that I can’t explain. I put the kids to sleep in there bedrooms and my wife in the living room chair (she has MS and it’s a special chair to help her mother get her up in the morning when she comes over) then I went to sleep at around 9:00 pm. Oh and I need to mention that in my hallway I installed a motion detecting light switch years ago so that the hall light isn’t left on all night but yet we can make it to the restroom in the middle of the night when needed. The switch is only activated when someone steps foot into the hall. I made sure when I installed it that it wouldn’t be triggered by someone rolling over in bed. Anyways at exactly 11:21 pm I was awoken by the sound and feeling of my bed being shoved this was followed by the hall light immediately clicking on. I got up to investigate and found both kids sound asleep and my wife awake in her chair reading her electronic book. I asked her if she saw anything, to which she replied no but she heard a loud thump, like someone fell out of bed and it startled her. No one fell out of bed. If it wasn’t for the light clicking on I wouldn’t have even thought twice about it, but that’s the part I can’t explain. The kids were asleep and my wife can’t walk at all. That light clicking on is the most confusing part of this. I also checked the next day to see if there were any earthquakes (living in Toledo, Ohio they are rare but not totally unheard of) and nothing was reported. Anyone have a theory on this?

I totally understand what you are saying MalibuQueen. The bed shaking thing happened to me too, except mine was even weirder. The bed I have used to be my mom and dad's bed, and then it became mine. Shortly after having it I experienced shaking, sat up in bed as it still shook, it was more of a vibrating feeling. So I told my mom about it after a few months and my mom explained that both her and my dad experienced this while sleeping in the bed. We thought maybe some of the pipes ran behind the wall, but while doing some renovations crossed out the chance of that being the cause. I am very spiritual, I think it might just be the bed. Anyways check for pipes behing the walls, and if not I honestly dont know. Jessica

my experience
i have had this happen to me also I'm from victoria melbourne and went nuts when it happened the shaking of the bed has stopped thank god but the vibrating feeling has just started within the last week or so. before this had happened to me a friend of mine who i had just become close with at the time was telling me what was happening to her and that she had even felt something physically shake her arm, she had a medium come in and the medium said to her she had a little boy in her room who had lost his mother and attached onto her and was trying to wake her up during the night because he wanted to play also that at night they are most active, she had to get rid of a teddy she had in the room and the medium asked the boy to leave also telling my friend to ask the boy to leave if it happened again, immidently after it stopped for my friend is the night it began for me i used to sleep with about 6 or 7 stuffed toys i would stay up because i was to scared to fall asleep, i've always have problems when it came to night and have experieced physic things like dreams that have come true during the following week or even day and sensing spirits and have always felt it in my room. the shaking of the bed stopped when i started my job in child care and came to the conclusion that the spirt has stayed at my work place which funny even has also been experiencing super natural activity, i recently went to a medium also who works in a angel shop as soon as i walked in my body from head to toe began to shake and my thinking was very clouded i spoke to the medium, with out me saying anything she said to me that she could feel my energies she explained to me that i was able to pick up peoples energy and because the energy in the shop was so strong that is why my body was shaking out of control it made sense to me because i would sometimes for no reason feel a strong sense of anger or sadness and other emotions for no reason at all that wouldn't last long when i was out in place where a lot of people gather she also told me that in my room was my great grandfather, he died when i was only one and i have no memory of him i have always felt a strong connection to him she said that he was very protective over me and she said he had even helped me in a dangerous situation also in you experience that your sleeping and wake up but your body is paralysed and can't move it for a min or so go to a medium imidently!!!

it has happened to me to, just once a day ago, I'm scared it will happen again, please does anybody have a solution to this, I'm not religious but today I went into my room and said, in the name of Jesus I command you to leave. ( it wont do any harm to try! ) . I also found the source of the rocking as my bed made a lot of sound, I went around the bed shaking different bits, I found that the boards supporting the mattress are the source, it would also link in with people feeling a moving thing under the matteress.

sleep bed shaking
thank you for posting about this. I have noticed it on and off for years. Scared the bjeebers out of myself last night. I had just layed down and begun to relax I heard breathing blew it off as me The whole bed vibrating sensation, Then just as I was begining to drift I could have sworn I heard either a very lound exhale or a whisper that I couldnt make a tangible word out of. Scare me so bad I did the lords prayer, I have had this sensation before during prayers at night, When i am relaxing, I got up went to sleep in the living room on the couch and it did not happen again. I have experienced in my life several times asteral projection or Out of Body experiences, but last night Really scared me good. I always thought it was just my body relaxing out or a strange sleep pattern, It is good to know that so many other people experience this phenomena as well. I have experienced it my entire life. I think it scared me so badly this time because earlier in the week I had a very vivid dream about Lilith. I dreamed I had a massive snake tatto started at my ankle went all the way up my leg and the snake was dead had been pricked on a rose thorn from my other tatoo, anyway its tongue was hanging out with a heart and inside the heart it said Lilith. No big deal but it was scary as all get out to have that experience last night. I am glad to hear the medical explination for this phenomena and that other people have it too.

Wow..same thing happened to me a couple of months back.. I am a Christian and I moved to Texas from the Virgin Islands. My company put me up in a hotel. I was sitting on my bed one time talking to my fiance on skype when suddenly the lights dimmed and something was moving inside of the bed...he never even noticed it...I was also awakened several times by thumping on my bed...it started to get worse..however I ignored it and it started thumping harder and harder every time. Things in my room started moving and disappearing and reappearing later. I knew it was a demon and I rebuked it every day and prayed every day...when this happens start praying and call out to Jesus and declare the blood of Jesus over yourself...I moved to my new apt on May 17th..its about 3 months later and I havent felt any thumping or shaking of my bed anymore ...Don't give in to it..its there for a reason..to scare or depress you..remember that the devil comes to steal..kill and destroy

Real Paranormal Activity
I just experienced the bed shaking this morning. Someone had just came in and out of the room to turn off the TV I had left on when I fell asleep. I turned over and tried to get back to sleep. Suddenly My bed started to vibrate. I decided to ignore it and go back to sleep but as I continued to think about it, I was like "Wait a minute". I sat up half awake and placed my hand lightly on the bed and felt that it was moving. I forced myself fully awake to be sure I wasn't imagining it. It was still moving. Seconds later it stopped. Now I know that it's a spring bed so I suspected that it was the springs from when I turned over. I went and attempted to recreate it but my bed doesn't move that way for that long. It only continued moving for one second. Again and again I tried to find the explanation why to reject this, but there was no way to explain or recreate this. I swear it had happened once before thinking it was an earthquake so I dismissed it. I believe that this was indeed something paranormal that had occurred.

Reasons I believe It was paranormal:
-My spring bed only continued moving for one second. When this happened it had happened for at least 8 to ten seconds. At least 4 seconds when I had fully awaken myself.

-I had turned on the TV to help me get back to sleep after this had awoken me so, no I wasn't dreaming

-Tried to recreate but found no way to.

-There was no noise of machinery or a car to had been the cause of the vibration.

-And lastly I have experienced other paranormal things in my room. My uncle had been messing with that spiritual demon stuff there before I moved into that room a long time ago.

I'm Scared...
