Bed shaking at night (Page 8)

my bed shakes too
I also thought it was just me until I googled "bed shaking" and could not believe the # of websites that pulled up. It happens pretty often to me. Never violent like but there have been times when it's shaking pretty good. Most of the time it's just gentle shaking but I'm really tired of it. It happened again last night and I laid there awake, waiting for it to stop. There was a noise in my house, like one of my kids getting out of bed and the shaking stopped. For about 10 seconds. Then started again. I would love to know why this happens. I don't live on a street where large trucks come thru in the middle of the night. We do not have earthquakes in Texas, I do not have any pets. I guess I will ask it to stop like I read on an earlier post and see what happens. So glad it's not it my head!

I know what it is!!!!! :)
Hey guys, so I too have been dealing with these wierd shaking feelings throughout random nights, and I agree that it's super scary! BUT I found an explanation! No, it's not a ghost or mini seizure, it's actually an uncommon symptom of just regularly falling asleep. When you become alert and start moving does it stop? If so, this just means that your dreaming mind and your body have not yet become in sync! When a person falls asleep, their brain stops sending impulses to the limbs, so we dont get up and start running in our sleep! Sometimes our minds and bodies aren't synchronized, and we "fall off of a curb" and jerk our leg until we become wide awake! This can also cause a shaking sensation that is really frightening! I am a 15 year old girl, 5 foot 8 who weighs 105 pounds, so I'm totally healthy and NOT crazy! Trust me, you're gonna be ok Very Happy

personal opinion
So i decided to check this occurance out real fast to help ease my girlfriends mind. she has had the bed shaking and unable to move durring the night for many years now. she also has noticed recently that the door knob has been moving as if someone was trying to get in/out of the room. as well as hearing someone whisper her name.

I personally feel that the mind is extreamely powerfull and the reason alot of this is happening is because the left right brain drama. by that i mean one part is practically sleeping and the other is fully awake, causing your vision and other senses to play tricks on you. which is most likely why everyone seems to be OK with it happening and most people report it as not being a scarey feeling and just shrug it off like "o it happens its ok" However you might be freaked out because one side of your brain knows whats up and the other has no clue.

If any of this made sense id sagest talking to yourself when it happens, if you tell your brain what your doing it wont freak out because you just started to move or a ertain thing is happening.

Overall i have never experianced this bed shacking although i have experianced the falling dream my fair share. i dont feel anything is necessarily wrong with you or your spiritual well being, and i say that as a spiritual median. however dont let that stop you from safe guarding your room and your house. burn a little hand picked sage, and get someone who knows what there doing to hang certain harmless things up for you.

I really hope this post helped out and sorry if it was long. i hope the best for all of you, and that it wont keep bothering you as much as i have read that it does. Gnight and have a good sleep Smile

Happens on vacation too
This has happened to me off and on for a while. But what prompted me to post here is that it happened to me on vacation at a cabin my fiance and I rented. We had a fight, and he went to the living room and I stayed in bed. All of a sudden, my bed started shaking near my feet and lower legs (I was 100% awake), as if someone was lightly nudging it. It scared me and I started crying, and all of a sudden it stopped. It went on and off like that all night, and I was so scared that I had to sleep with the lights on. When we got home from vacation last night, it happened again as I was laying on the couch watching tv (again awake). I really would love to know why this is happening. It could be anything - energy from your body, spiritual activity (I just hope its not evil spirits), who knows. I just think its interesting how many people experience this.

Bed shaking
This happened to me last night. I was at the verge of falling asleep and I heard my fan turn off, so I sat up to see why. I just thought the power went off, but all of the other electronics were working fine. While I was thinking this over in my sleepy state, my bed started quickly fluxuating. I thought, this is weird. So I tested to make sure it was just the bed by sticking my hand out straight, and the bed was fluxuating in a way that it hit my hand. This whole time I was completely conscious, and hadn't been asleep at all. I thought it through, so I knocked on my roommate's door and told him about what happened, but by the time I went back I stuck out my hand in the same way and it didn't move.

bed shaking for a year!
I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. I am Deaf. I was SOOO glad I pulled up this website reading your blogs. I am NOT alone or crazy! I have this similar creepy experiences! I felt bed shaking 2 to 4 times a day/night for about A YEAR either when I am awake, dozing off, or asleep everyday. I was sitting down on my bed doing my homework with my laptop, eating, and texting friends from my iphone, my bed shook. It freaked me out! Most of the times, I was always remained calm! I know I wasn't dreaming even I jumped out of my bed running downstairs! Most of the times, I was about dozing off or in the middle of sleeping, my bed shook! It woke me up with my eyes stare at the closing or opening door being paralyzed for about 3 to 5 minutes. Then, I forced my eyes close getting back to sleep! It was from soft to strong vibrations for 3 seconds to 30 seconds. After few months, I learned to let it go and got used to it! Maybe it was my house was haunted. During the daytime, my roommate across from me and I were having conversations, all of sudden, she felt her bed shaking like mine three times. I told her I feel it everyday and every night!!!! Until now for some reason, I don't know how it got stopped about 6 months ago! Weird!

You are in a state of sleep paralisys not fully asleep but just enough too the point where mind is still awake. If this is the case you might be a person who has out of body experiences. Which before that happens ur body vibrates

Bed Shaking and Sleep Paralysis
This stuff is evil spirit's work. It has happened to me also, I've seen things too. People don't go to church and don't believe in God. If these things start to happen it means you've done something that has provoked him to do that to you. Go to church, be near god and these things will slowly cease to happen. These spirits try to scare you and take you away from god. We,Orthodoxs, have Saint Cyprianos for this kind of stuff. Find a priest, confess your sins and consult him. And for the rest of your life be near god.

Bed shaking and visitations
I'm so glad to have found this site coz I thought I was the only one experiencing this strange phenomena. I started getting visitation around 2003. At first I'd be woken by someone sitting down heavilly on my bed and a couple of times I've felt the covers being pulled off. I sleep alone so I knew something was not right. Just in the last 5 years now I've been woken by my bed shaking violently. First time I felt my bed rocking from side to side then the violent shakes started. I rang my sister to ask if there was in fact an earth tremor or quake in middle of night but there wasn't. It was just me experiencing this. Just the other night I was woken to something grabbing my feet and by time I dragged myself out of REM sleep my bed was shaking so hard I was paralyzed. I yell out 'WHAT DO YOU WANT?' and 'YOU WERE NOT INVITED, GO AWAY!' and the moment I yell out, whatever it is disappears and the bed stops shaking. For all those experiencing this I suggest you ask it what it wants or say exactly what I do as it does stop when you confront it.
I hope this helps but I am still searching for answers like most here..

Shaking bed wakes me
been happening to me at two different houses, different beds. While i'm awake...usually when i'm about to sleep. the tremors would be mainly felt at my feet..but i've also felt it from the waist down. It is a brief shake that has also jolted me out of my sleep. Very disturbing! I need to find a way to make it stop. Maybe if we figured out what we all have in common. Let's form a facebook page called SBS (shaking bed syndrome) Maybe we will find an answer then.

shaking bed syndrome
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I know I am not dreaming when this happens as I am not one for vivid dreams and I rarely remember any of what I dream about. Whatever it is that sits down heavy on my bed or grabs my feet and wakes me with the bed shsking violently is not in my mind. It feels like I am swimming in mollasses when I'm clawing my way back to awakeness when my bed is shaking so violently. It really takes all my strength and senses to kick in to yell out GO AWAY and I'm wide awake by the time the shaking subsides to a stop. I just wish I knew if it was spiritual or something else that is trying to make contact with me.

Good idea re the face book page for shaking bed syndrome. I am still on learners plates with facebook, so be my guest to start one up and I'm happy to share experiences there too.

Scared
Same thing here. I am noticing a pattern with it too. It only happens when my husband and I are both in the bed together and it begins slight and then
Gets more forceful if we try to ignore it. If we tell it to stop it gets more violent and it does it in the daylight which is what scares me the most. It dosent matter if I have every light in the house on it still happens. I also notice a cobweb sensation on my feet and neck and ear and my back when my back is to the edge of the bed and when I turn over it rounds my face. The shaking is happenin right now as I right this message so I know I'm not imaging it. The worst part about this is that I am 37 weeks pregnant and I am very scared of what I can't feel it doing like what If it can hurt the baby?

all kind of sleep disorders
I had this happen to me a couple of nights ago. I have asthma, not on meds though but I have always had sleep issues. I have experienced really scary sleep paralysis many times, particularly during day napping. There were times when I vivdly felt or imagined someone in the room with me or trying to get me. I discussed it with my dad and brother who reassured me it was okay they had experienced it before too.

This was different though. I had been kind of asleep not to REM yet probably though and it was very late in the night-early morning, I had stayed awake all night. I fell asleep in my living room recliner. I woke up kind of groggy with rapid heart beat, which I get sometimes like sleep panic or something because I got scared, I am guessing it was just exhaustion, but it felt like the chair was kind of shaking/vibrating. I couldn't tell if it was my heart beat so I took deep breaths and tried to calm my heart beat but the chair still felt as if it were shaking. No weird leg or muscle feeling though.

My dad has sleep apnea and sleeps with a C-pap machine now. He used to sleep walk, my brother and I have both sleep walked and talked many times before. We all have asthma, and snore like crazy!

I'm sure it's all related, no paranormal stuff though in that state in the dark at night it sometimes fools my brain into thinking so.

bedshakes
i'm not alone! but i have experienced this even when i am awake and it's late afternoon. It felt like my bed is shaking/vibrating. I thought it was just my cellphone or my laptop but hell cellphones can't rock the whole bed and they're not even in vibrate mode. ^^

It happens to me...
.This happens to me alot. The time it shook the most was when I woke from a VERY emotionally charged dream. I was swaety...heart beating through my chest and my bed was shaking ALOT. It slowed down to a stop in about three minutes. I was FULLY awake as the shaking subsided. I felt it. One time, my then boyfriend (now my husband) was sleeping over and felt it too. No matter where I move or where I sleep, my bed shakes. I think it could be your own personal telekinetic energy releasing from your body while in certain stages of sleep. I don't think in my case its related to any kind of ghost or haunting. I am psychic. I think it has alot to do with my OWN energy releasing

Bed Shaking
Oh my goodness.... I'm not sure why I only JUST now decided to look this up. So grateful to see there are others experiencing this strange "thing", but still not happy that there aren't definitive answers. This has been happening to me since I was a young girl (now 33), on occasion. Growing up my parents used to explain it away by a city bus that barreled down our street... but that didn't explain why it happened at night. We lived in a 100+ year old house so I was convinced that it was haunted. But this has followed me wherever I've gone, several apts in the city of Chicago and now a house in a quiet STL neighborhood. It only happens on occasion - maybe a few times a year. I either am going to bed or wake-up to the shaking.... it happens for maybe 30 seconds to a minute after I wake. It doesn't seem to be possible that I had a large jerk and the bed can then shake, consistently, for that long. Last night it happened again - this time I awoke and to much more of a vibration than a shake or constant jiggle. It freaked me out.... also, it never seems to happen when I am sleeping with my husband (I was in our guest room). SIGH.... what IS this!????
