because my body is adjusting to bc pill?

User Profile
hello,
I had an abortion the end of October. After which, I was put on a BC pill that I've been taking regularly without fail. The past 2 or 3 months I have had 2 periods each month, which is not normal for me. Usually I have a period a month and they last 5 days. Now I have a period for 5 or 6 days, skip a week and back to the period. Is it because my body is still adjusting itself?

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

After an abortion there are hormonal fluctuations and it takes few months for the body to return to normal state. Also you are on birth control pills which cause irregular bleeding, spotting, changes in the cycle etc.If you experience very heavy bleeding then kindly visit your Healthcare Provider as continous heavy bleeding can lead to anemia, fatigue, dizziness.

Take Care!
