BC that doesn't give terrible emotional side effects?

So first let me start with a little back story:
I started taking the pill when i was 18, i'm 24 now and as of a month ago stopped taking it. Over the course of those 6 years my life was an emotional roller coaster, i would be so angry and irritated at those closet to me for no reason, fits of awful depression. sometimes i would feel ok, most of the time i was just plain batshit crazy. It wasn't just the brand of pill i was taking either, because i'm quite certain i've switched to every brand under the sun. For all of these years i thought i had a mental disorder, i truly believed i was bi-polar, and then just plain crazy and never thought it had anything to do with my hormonal birth control until i made the decision to stop taking it. What a difference it made, its like I've been stumbling around in the dark and someone finally turned on a light but words cannot even describe how much "clearer" i feel.

So, the reason i'm posting this is because today i went in to have the non hormonal paragaurd IUD inserted but to my horror i was told my uterus is to small. I'll be honest and say i sobbed all the way home from the doctors office because i have no idea what else to try. I wanted a non-hormonal birth control because i do not DO NOT want to go through the emotional side effects again but I've researched the shot, the implant and the "mini" pill, all of which I've seen women say give them terrible mood swings and emotional problems as well.

Condoms aren't a good option for me, which is why i went on birth control in the first place. Its not a full blown latex allergy but latex definitely irritates me..down there.

Has anyone come across a brand of birth control that doesn't give them terrible emotional side effects? Or does anyone have some advice in general. I'm just not sure what to do.

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

You can use the Nuva ring after consulting your doctor. However if you have any increased side effects then you need to get it removed.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
