basal joint poping two weeks after sprain thumb diagnosis

User Profile
thank you for your time. went to the e.r. after a fall with major swelling and pain in thumb. X-Ray came back negative for fractures and was sent home with an ace wrap on it. now the hand swelling is gone other than at the base of the thumb. when i try to move the base part of the thumb its almost as if where the metacarpal meets the basil joint will pop up or down depending on the movement. is this part of the sprain or could there be further damage? thank you again for your time
