My doctor told me to switch from seaonique to Avaine. She told me to switch when the placebo pills started (which is this sunday) because I currently have a period on seasonique. How long should I use a backup method?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum
While switching over of birth control pills, consider using additional protection throughout the use of the new pill pack until you get your next withdrawal bleeding (or a minimum of upto 3 weeks). For further clarification, discuss with your treating doctor/gynecologist.
Take care.
