Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

Your concern is regarding the severe cold and cough that your 3 month old child is having. The rainy season brings lots of viral infections, which can cause a dry, irritating cough. Due to this viral infection, children can suffer from allergic rhinitis or sinusitis also.

Use humidifiers so that your child inhales plenty of steam so that it reduces the catarrh in sinusitis and rhinitis. You can also use saline nasal sprays. If the symptoms are severe, then steroid nasal sprays and bronchodilators may be needed. If there is any fever then acetaminophen and antibiotics may be needed for which I would suggest a pediatrician’s evaluation.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For an exact diagnosis, you are advised to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
