Hello everyone,
i'm 32 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I went for an ultrasound and the doctor said that my baby has a big bladder 30mm. I asked him if this can create any problem, he said no don't worry, it means that the kidney is working good. But I didn't believe him, even I'm not as qualified as him, I still can see the logic. When I checked from the internet I found out that it can be a really serious problem and may indicate some kind of defects and I saw some pictures of babies who have this problem . Believe me I couldn't sleep nor eat, My heat is bleeding when I think about the health of my baby. I beg you to help me, plz I will become crazy if I don't get a clear idea about what is going on to my small baby. plz plz plz plz plz heeeeeelp
Thank you and sorry to bother you with my story and sorrow

Third Trimester of Pregnancy Answer A43819
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
If you are worried about the incidental finding of baby’s distended urinary bladder, you may consider getting repeat ultrasound scan done to rule out kidney anomaly and any evidence of backflow causing ureteric dilatation (and also see if the finding was incidental or if you are getting repeated same finding of distended bladder). You may also consider discussing the findings and prognosis with a perinatologist.
Take care.

Large bladder
My son was diagnosed prenatal with large bladder when I was 36 weeks. They induced at 37.5 weeks as amno fluid was low. They have fine ultrasounds and a vcug where they state the bladder is unusually large still but kidney functions are good. They did vcug and there is no blockage. They also checked spine with ls spine ultrasound to chk for spina bifida , spine was ok. Now we go tmrw to urologist again to see what he thinks after seeing the ultrasound. One dr said it appears the muscle around bladder seems weak. Have you had your baby and what is the diagnosis and what are they going to do. Like you I have been worried sick every day since before he was born and still a month later as we have no for sure answe and font know what future holds for the health of our don. Sending good vibes, wishes your way as we'll. plz write back. Thanks ms
