B12 defficiecny. can it's damage be treated?

I've been a vegan for three years and until very recently I did not supplement b12. I've been getting pins and needles in my hands and feet and occasionally i feel dizzy. This has been happening for a few days. I have scheduled a doctors appointment to discuss this but I am afraid it is too late. If I severe b12 deficiency can it's damage be treated or will I always suffer from these symptoms even with treatment?

It has been said that the damage is permanent. I don't think that is actually the case and think that the nerves ought to eventually heal. I think it depends a lot on whether the stem cells that create new nerve cells were damaged.

Drink or do injections of B12 and the symptoms will go away.
