could all the levels be abnormal because of bad gallbladder ? billirubin levels were at 22 the day of surgery. temp stent in liver at moment as one piece of stone is still there. spent 9 days in hospital, had 2 erpc and removal of gallbladder.

feel good and trying to be positive. but talk of liver damage is unnerving.

Hello, and thank you for your medical question on e Health Forum.

Yes, a blocked bile duct can cause altered liver function tests.

It is too early after the procedure to say that the liver is damaged.

You can relax and wait for a week or two, and once the inflammation that arose after the surgery heals, your liver functions will probably improve.

In the mean time, monitoring your liver functions once a week might be helpful.

I hope this helps.
