16 and it feels ike it should be there but?

hello im am 16 and hve not started my period yet, i am not sexually active but i found a lump when i felt down there and it feels ike it should be there what do i do?

If you have a family history of periods starting late, then you may start soon. If secondary sexual characteristics have developed like breast and hair in armpit and pubis then hypothyroidism, PCOD, hormonal imbalance etc can delay the onset of periods. Otherwise, the delay can be due to some problem affecting the ovaries, pituitary, systemic illness (IBS, cystic fibrosis), genetic defects etc.

Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist once. Hope this helps. Take care!
