Am I pregnant even though I had protected sex?

User Profile
My last period was June 17th and I was supposed to get it 3 days ago(July 8th).I began spotting June 26th but then it stopped 4 days later. When my mom gets her period, I get mine after her cycle. She's on her period right now so will I get mine after her period? Am I pregnant even though I had protected sex on June 17th??? Help me please.

Welcome to ehealthforum,
If your intercourse was around your ovulation time then the early and lighter bleeding could have been indicative of probable implantation bleeding. Wait and watch for your actual periods. If your periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you miss your periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). If pregnancy gets ruled out, further evaluation would be done to look for the cause for the abnormal bleeding, and treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and evaluation results) would be started to help you control the symptoms, and regulate your periods. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
