Welcome to ehealthforum,
The altered bleeding pattern that you describe could also be indicative of perimenopause or menopausal onset. Women can start having perimenopausal symptoms after 35 years of age. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation along with hormonal analysis and ultrasound scan to confirm/rule out menopausal changes. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
Take care.
