Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Birth control pills are used in treatment for PCOS for regulating the period cycles. Request your gynecologist for hormonal tests to be done. Since you have family history of endometriosis, it is possible that your symptoms might be associated with it, a diagnostic laparoscopy done will help to confirm/rule it out. Consider discussing about role of insulin modifiers for control of PCOS as most common reason for PCOS is insulin resistance.
Take care.
