User Profile
Hello..after I eat anything I get thick sailva were I have to keep clearing my throat for about 10-15 then it goes away then after 10-20 mins I get a headache that either lasts an hour or 2.. Durning the day everyday on and off I have this pressure feeling in the middle of my chest it's there on and off even when I don't eat. It kinda feels like there's air pushing up. This has been happening everyday for 2 months now. I've been taking Omeprazole for 1 1/2 months and it doesn't do anything. My left nose hurts and I feel pressure and itchy eyes. I was thinking allergies but to have it everyday with the chest discomfort on and off.
Thank you for your time,

hello and welcome your concern is appreciated

The thick saliva can be due to a condition known as xerostomia or dry mouth where salivary glands are not producing enough saliva, person can have thick stringy saliva, sticky dry feeling, difficulty chewing tasting or swallowing. antidepressants meds, diuretics, and some pain medication can cause it. there is autoimmune disease in which people complain of dry mouth and sandy and itchy eyes called sjogren syndrome in which the mucous membranes and glands of the mouth and eyes are affected first. some patients may have GERD and gastroparesis with chronic pain and accompanying fatigue
allergies can be held responsible for the itchy eyes and nasal symptoms. chest pressure can be due to inflammation or damage to the mucosa of esophagus, a symptom of GERD, gastritis. anxiety can also be responsible for the chest symptoms.

hope it helps
