Asthma Answer A47571
Dear!

Thank for writing to EHF!

The symptoms are consisting with Asthma.. All I suggest you to visit a pulmonologist who will do

1) Respiratory function test
2) Blood Panels
3) MethaColine challenge test (maybe)

and base of his symptoms will grade his Asthma. every grade Asthma has got different treatment. If one treatment fails we have to step up the treatment by increasing the dose or adding one more drug. I want you to not worry about that its not treatable. you just need to optimize the medication dose. Meanwhile during episode use salbutamol puffs as suggested by your doctor and avoid stimulus like pollen or dust (or other things which causes this episode). for that matter he can also use a mask which will prevent further episodes.

hope it helped
