Hello! I am 19 and for many many years (as long as I can remember) I have had this spot on my hip that looks like a faint bruise. It does not hurt at all and it never gets any better. The strangest thing is that it feels like there is no tissue where the skin is discolored. The skin is not dry or itchy or sensitive. I was just wondering if it was a normal thing or if I should be concerned about it?

The spot which you are concerned about is more likely a benign and hereditary mole.

If it has remained mostly unchanged in its appearance and If it is not bothering you or is not symptomatic, you should have nothing to worry about.

But if you have any doubts or concerns, consult a dermatologist for a proper medical opinion.
