Acetabulum Fracture- Surgical recovery

Hello,
I am 39 years old, very active and my job is physically demanding. 3 months ago, I fractured my acetabulum from a fall from a significant height, which required surgery (ORIF). I am now weight bearing ( the last 6 weeks) and feeling no pain in my hip. However, my ROM of my hip is extremely limited despite 4 weeks of physical therapy. It seems that the muscles are guarding my hip and it is extremely tight. I believe it is causing my knee pain too. Unfortunately, this is limiting my rehab and Im starting to get super frustrated with it. Is this normal and is there a way to get beyond my hip guarding? My PT doesn't seem to be well versed in this injury. Thank you so much in advance.
