Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Birth contrl pills are effective in pregnancy prevention only if they are taken regularly at the same time daily without missing any pill.Since you have been quite irregular for pill intake, took then for a short while and also had unprotected sexual contact so possibility of conception is present.

Light periods/spotting might be due to the alteration in the normal hormonal levels due to the pill intake. It is difficult to comment without a physical examination.Kindly visit a Gynaecologist for evaluation.

Take care!
