Abdominal pain and unusual periods

User Profile
hi i was on the depo for 4 years and came off it over a year ago. my periods have been like clockwork since every 28 days. in nov last year just after my period ended i started have abdmional pain, backache, nausea etc.i went docs and as sexual active was told cud b pregnant and come back when my next period is due. the pain got worse so i got sent off 4 a scan 2 check my organs and stuff were fine which it was. when my period was due in nov it was late and only had spotting that lasted 3 days on and off. i got swabs done and a smear test and everything was normal. i done a pregnancy test and was negative. my dec period didn't come till jan 1st and was brown blood on and off and lasted 2 days. my doc said to take it as a light period but it had no flow both times and was just there when i wiped.
i am worried because haven't been feeling myself since nov. is this a light period? or could i be pregnant and not showing on a hpt. im confused my docs don't really help. what is happening

Am I Pregnant Answer A9214
Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

The only way to be sure is take a blood pregnancy test. This will confirm for sure whether there was a pregnancy or not.

If it is not pregnancy then other causes of delayed periods like lifestyle changes, severe anemia, prolonged illness, STDs, hypothyroidism, adrenal gland problems and PCOS have to be ruled out.

STDs you have ruled out. The other causes have to be looked into. Please consult your gynecologist regarding this as a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net. Hope this helps. Take care!
