abdomen pain associated with gas.

User Profile
I have an 11 year old daughter who has always had abdomen pain associated with gas. She will have nausea has had irregular bowels. She is now discharging and complained of her private area hurting with little burn in the past. I gave her pain relievers and cranberry juice and craisins to help with any possible UTI she might be having due to her not wiping right when using the restroom. She doesn't have fever, constipation, diarhea or vomiting, just pain and nausea with lots of gas. I've taken her to the doctors before for the same symptoms and all her doctor has diagnosed her with is a possible IBS and stomach virus. Never have given her any medication to help her, just a diet to follow to reduce her symptoms. Strickly no dairy, wheat, etc..So brown rice, soy, and almost vegan diet. Expensive and not long lasting, still had symptoms but not as bad..Ever since she was an infant, she had lots of gas and pain. Please help, I feel like a helpless mother just
wanting to sooth my childs pain

Abdominal Pain Answer A18611
Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

Pain in abdomen with gas could be due to various causes as gastritis, viral gastroenteritis, bacterial overgrowth, peptic ulcer,IBS,pyloric stenosis, allergy, pancreatitis, gall stones, chrons disease, appendicitis etc.
It is very necessary that a proper investigation and examination should be done as it is very difficult to comment just on the basis of history.Get a USG abdomen scan done which will help in the diagnosis. If there is any infection then probably it needs prescription medications.Kindly visit a Physician for evaluation.

Take Care!
