Welcome to ehealthforum.
For how long was the Depo shot supposed to be effective? When was the next shot due? Sometimes with use of hormonal contraceptives, you have your ovaries not responding also known as ovarian failure or anovulation. If you are having normal and regular periods, then your fertility might not be affected. Sometimes it can just take longer for your normal fertility to return.
If you are anxious to conceive, consider visiting your gynecologist for a thorough evaluation to rule out hormonal or ovarian issues (infertility work-up). Get started on appropriate treatment (if any abnormality is detected) to help you get pregnant. Your partner’s semen analysis done is also important to know the sperm quality and quantity produced is adequate to result in pregnancy or not.
Take care.
