Zoley - What are your opinions on this pill? (Page 1)

Funnily enough i have been feeling a bit the same, a bit disconnected from people, my moods are a bit different. havent really noticed any other side effects other than that. the pill itself is a bit confusing to take, instead of listing the day, it just prints numbers instead, makes it hard to realise which day you are on, if you have alreayd taken it etc.. i think i am just going to go back to the other ones i was on.. for $85 for 3 months, its bit too $$ to maintain.. when i can be paying $20 for 4 months.

Hey I just recently started zoley too I have been on it for about 9 days and my skin has cleared up completely I haven't gained any weight or had bloating, I've had no cramps but since my period started (I started zoley on the first day of my period) it has lasted longer than usual it usual only lasts four days it's now been nine and I'm not sure if this is my body adjusting or what? I don't feel disconnected as others have said and I actually feel more connected I am eating tons more though. However I'm not sure if its the act that I had to start using liners again (I have very sensitive skin) because my periods been too light to use tampons but I now have a rash at the base of my vaginal opening and the gap between there and my bum, it's very dry and itchy and I've been using nappy cream which seems to work, any ideas what this is? And has anyone met or heard of anyone who's gotten pregnant on zoley how reliable is it?

I am also in Australia and My doctor gave me 2 months of samples of the pill.I just started this pill 2 weeks ago. I went from the Depo Provera injection (which was TERRIBLE) to Zoely. So far this is what my side effects are. I feel hungry all the time and feel like eating junk food more than normal. I'm also getting a dry vagina during sex which is unusual for me! I also already am feeling depressed and it's almost like I'm starting to not care about anything or anyone. Today, i was talking to my boyfriend And it was like i didnt want to talk, just watch TV haha. I'm not sure if maybe my body is just adjusting or if is just a bad pill for me and you. Anyways how are you going on this pill now?

Hi, yes I went through the same thing and I ended bak up on my anti depressants. Plus I had a lot of stuff going on in my life at the time, so I won't completely blame it on te pill. I didn't last the whole 3 months as I still continued to get the bleeding between my periods and yes I also felt very hungry too and ate lots of junk food! I'm now on Norinyl -1 I think its called, which is a higher dose of something than the regular pills. I've had nothing by brown break through bleeding every day!

I've been taking this for a month and its been great. I was previously on loette which I experienced no side effects but it did not help to regulate my cycle and I would still suffer severe pms, heavy bleeding and pain. I have had none of this so far on zoely, it has cleared my skin and so far I've had no breakthrough bleeding. I've had no weight gain or depression, which other pills (yasmin) have caused for me in the past.
I think its just a very individual thing- I had read all of these comments before bstarted taking it and was very concerned, so thought I better through some positive feedback in the mix.

I'm glad to hear someone has had. Positive effect from this pill. I personally wish I could say the same thing as I like the idea of having your period for a few days and not the 7 days like the other pills! Any other feedback is still always great for me to hear - good or bad, or if you find you have a similar problem to me ( break through bleeding between your cycles- which try say is a thin uterine lining to me) what you have used / tried and if it has worked or not!

Hi, I was only on this pill for 3 months... I didn't like it at all. It cost me close to $100 for 3 months supply, which was far out of my budget. Not to mention within a month of taking Zoely I developed bad acne, I've never had acne before or with any other pill. I found it didn't make my periods any lighter or reduce cramps.. very disappointed I'm now off that pill and onto Diane 35 and so far it's much better

Oh my god! I hadnt ever heard of zoely. Neither had any of my girlfriends. I tend to be a happy Person with a normal functional relationship however, after being on zoely I constantly feel depressed. It's taking a toll on my relationship. At the beginning I'd cry at anything, and experiences pimples, bad. I don't usually suffer with more than 2 pimples at a time, so seeing them all over my forehead, shoulders and back is discomforting. I have had bleeding also paranoia bad that now I've been prescribed with sleeping tablets. With the weight gain mine tends to fluctuate anyway however I have noticed a 2 kg dIfference in a month. What can I try to help stop my bad period pains but also that is very light.

I was recently given 2 free samples of Zoely by my GP and have been taking it for about 3 weeks. During this time i've been feeling progressively more depressed, emotionless (tho some days i just feel like crying for no apparent reason), disconnected from people & generally strange. It's worrying me as i'm in a new relationship & i feel it's affecting how i relate to him & also our sex life - since starting i've had a much drier vagina and am generally not interested in or enjoying being touched. All this is really out of character for me.
I haven't noticed any weight gain but i do seem to be feeling more hungry. No acne but slightly tender & larger breasts. Some spotting which i haven't experienced on other pills before.
It's the mood-altering side effects which really worry me and i think i will finish this pack & try something else.

I am going well on Zoely after a terrible experience with Yamin.
I will admit, my emotions are slightly "raw". I cry at the thought of animal cruelty.......things that bother me tend to feel amplified.
However, I am very much loving light periods, boobs bigger but not sore, no bloating, energy ok. My eyes are tired but I'm doing long days on computers more than normal.
To be honest, it is well known that estrogen (even bioidentical estrogen) can cause some level emotional ups & downs, or depression. Even transgender male to female transition often involves emotional side effects from high doses of estrogen.
My experience is that a long as I'm aware of my pill making me feel more emotional thn normal, then I am in control a lot more.
I am taking this pill to shrink ovarian cysts and have better periods (I have endometriosis). It's not for contraception, as my body is infertile at present according to my doctors.
So far I have no weight gain and no cravings. Some minor morning nausea that lasts one hour max - My doctor said this side effect will go away once my body adjusts.
Definitely recommend Zoely because it's the most natural pill on the market today and the only one to agree with my body!

I forgot to add that Yasmin made me violently ill. I lasted 3 weeks on it and was a wreck. Diane 35ed also made me sick. Thank god my doctor recommended Zoely.
It has been a breath of fresh air. My doctor explained how it's a safer pill to take too. Since I'm 30, this appeals to me. Risks of the pill increase with age.
I'm also in Australia. So far I have only found limited feedback about this pill because it's so new. The medical trials online are mostly positive though.
I just wanted to share my experience so far because it sounds like other women are having problems with depressive side effects. I understand how you feel, because Yasmin & Diane made me depressed (like a fog). Relieved that so far Zoely is much better!

My experience with Zoely has been horrendous. After taking it for only 2 months I have gone from a happy, confident girl enjoying a new relationship, loving life and enjoying each day, to a depressed, teary headcase. After a week of taking Zoely I was starting to get fits of anger and feeling like crying for no reason. Very odd for me as I am not an emotional person.

I tried Zoely as every other pill has sent me a little crazy... but this one seems to be the worst so far. I have had to take a break from seeing my new partner as I am a nasty, aggressive monster to him... he is wondering where the lovely girl he met 8 months ago has gone.

Have been off Zoely for about 3 weeks now... praying that the lingering emotional side effects will leave my body very soon... I want my life back

I'm an Australian too and went to see my doctor recently about going back on the pill after not being on it for about a year or so. I've tried various pills over the years, some include Trifeme, Diane and most suited to me would probably be Monofeme. I've had the Implanon - made me cry every single day, and I've tried the Nuva ring, that didn't suit me, and I've also had the Marina in for a few months. This also didn't suit me at all.
This leaves the injection for me to try but this is very similar to the Implanon so i won't like the outcome (and its permanent for 3 months).
So when my doc suggested Zoely, being new and a more natural hormone, i jumped. Its been two weeks and I've noticed a strong change within me - I'm emotional and crying at nothing, very moody and easily aggravated, I seem to be getting upset and sometimes feeling unhappy being with my boyfriend of 3 and a half years. I'm 5 weeks into a degree and I've been skipping classes simply because i am too tired and unmotivated to get out of bed. I feel disconnected emotionally, numb and generally very down. Its really not nice at all and I've decided to stop taking Zoely immediately. I want my life back and fast!

You sound like you are telling my story exactly, Perthchick - I have pretty much followed the same contraceptive path as you. I can only say that since I have made my last post I am definitely feeling more positive due to coming off Zoely. I was close to making some silly decicions (biggest one was splitting with my partner) due to my crazy thinking paths, but I have since seen the light, so my only advice is if you are thinking of making any major changes, dont listen to your thoughts until you have had a few weeks distance between you and Zoely! I'm australian too & have been on Zoely for about a month. I've actually lost a couple of kilos (was previously on Yasmin for 3yrs) but I'm still having breakthrough bleeding 2 weeks after my period should have ended... very annoying!

Am going to stick it out & see if next month is any better.

Hi, I was put onto this Zoely pill because the Yasmin i had been on for 6 years had decided to stop being as effective and i was breakthrough bleeding. This pill gave my body a little shock for the first 2 weeks, my moods were a little crazy but it's now calmed down. I have decided to skip my periods for the last two swings and the only thing i have noticed is small acne on my back but not white heads, just blocked pores. I have lost 4 kgs since being on this pill, mainly due to my diet changes, no more bad foods and everything is fresh vegies and lots of protein. I figured if I'm pumping my body with lots of chemicals (the doctor said it's stronger than Yasmin) then i figured i better do the right thing by my body and eat healthy. I hope everyone eventually finds the right pill for them. I don't mind that this brand costs me $95 every 3 months, at least i know it's doing its job

Hi, I am the opposite, I have been on Zoely for a month, I started inactive pills waiting for my period which is regular every 27 days for 5-7 days and nothing I got worried cause hubby was home from work this week. Called the Doc he said stop taking it (I fall preg really easy, have fallen on the pill before) so I stopped has been 7 days now with no pill and still no period. Have had a little pink spotting and some cramping. Will go for a blood test on Wednesday if still dont have them. We have 3 children already and thought that was it.. Anyone ever got pregnant on Zoely?

Since changing from Juliet/Diane to zoely my pms has just gone through the roof.
I originally switched as it has less side effects but began a diet at the same time so I'm hoping it was just the diet which made me lose weight and not zoely.
I have a lot of spotting which is annoying as it seems I don't decide when my period comes.
I thought maybe I was just noticing more pms and just convincing myself but after reading this I am definately going to change back to Juliet.
Plus zoely is just too expensive.
