Well Im in a similar situation to you. You can read what happened to me on my profile. I just want to say, im in my first year of college too and 18 and my babys dad wants nothing to do with us either. If you want to keep your baby, dont let anyone tell you that your too young because there are a ton of people that have kids at this age and younger. Its not easy to be pregnant and going to school and working but if you want to keep this kid that can be your determination and it does give you the strength to keep going. If the babys dad isnt in the picture, its not the end of the world. There are guys out there that will love you and the baby so although you shculd tell the babys dad at some point that its his, you can do it. How does your family feel? If there supportive itll be easier. Im almost at the end of my pregnancy, so ive been through a lot of crap and if you need anyone to talk to, feel free to message me any time. <3 Kyra

Just my opinion, but waiting until you are married, finished with your education, and financially stable is a better situation in which to have a child.

I'm not married and I am trying to have a baby now. I actually want a baby FIRST, so that when I DO get married my child can partake in the ceremony.

As for bringing a baby into the world with no father.. is it wrong? No. Is it wrong to have a 1 night stand with somebody you KNOW is in a relationship? YES! Be the bigger person and tell the cheater no.

I agree with aochriss.
Have you thought of adoption. It would be giving the baby to a family that would be able to provide what your are currently unable to. It is a selfless and responsible decision. I am sure you have lots of hopes and dreams for your baby. Placing it with a stable family who can make those hopes and dreams come true is an option worth considering. Let me know if you want any more information and best of luck to you.

How does that process work? I would love if maybe you could message me as not to take over the post and change the topic. But I would love it if i could get info on how my sons father can terminate his rights. Its something no one has been able to tell me about.

Re:
Basically, you just need a contract that says the bio father does not want legal rights or responsibilities to the child. There is a standard form you can get at the court house. All you will need is for him to sign and notarize it. This would mean that he has no interaction with the child, and you would not get child support. let me know if you need more advice.

18 yr old mommy
Im an 18 year old mommy and I LOVE my son. I work full time, go to school and take care of Rylan by myself. Jarad is in Ry's life but we don't get to see him much because he is also working to help me with Ry. I love him more than anything in the world but im not even going to lie baby's are HARD work, its a FULL time job.

Can an unwed teen mother get welfare if the father doesn't have to pay child support?

It sounds like it's ok to let the father off the hook, but at the same time it makes taxpayers pay child support for a child not even their own.

I didnt ask because I want him off the hook. I asked because I have a boyfriend whom is willing to help me with my son. We both work and my babys dad is a deadbeat who hasnt had a job the whole time Ive been pregnant. He lives off of his grandmother, because no one in his family even works. It would make life easier if I didnt have to spend my entire life trying to get money off of him when its never going to happen. Why would he want to get a job when he can just live with his parents forever. I mean hes not a child, hes almost 21, but its not like he learned work ethic from his parents, they dont work either. I dont know if I could get welfare, but thats not as important to me as raising my child around upstanding people, not people who laize about the house allday. I mean, I might be induced tomorow, and im Still working. So its not like Im laizing about even though my baby could come at any time.

you can do it! it doesn't matter if the father is in the picture or not. you'll have so much love for that baby, it won't matter. you can get married later in life. you can go back to school. the baby is a blessing. go with it! do what's in your heart. i had my son while i was in college. i wouldn't do anything different! he means the world to me! i could be living in a box on the street with him and i'd be happy. i graduated school. i now have my own business. it all works out. trust your instincts. if you feel like throwing up at the though of abortion then your soul is telling you something. your heart and soul are telling you that abortion is not the choice for you. you need to listen to these inner-most instincts. don't let anyone tell you what to do!!! people can be stupid! and narrow-minded! keep your chin up!

no one can tell you. I have had 2 abortions, and honestly, they are not that bad, do the surgical. Fast, and guess what, you can have a baby when u are ready to take care of it. if u care about life, care about the conditions that life must live under
