We all know that animals have personalities...but what is your friends' best character trait? Loyalty? Earnestness? Happiness?

Taco's best personality trait is just how loving he is. He is the most cuddly, happy, purring cat ever. Feeny's best personality trait is his independence. He is adorable and loves to be daring and try things out on his own.

Shadow is a cat. But he seriously thinks hes a dog. His best trait is....well hes has lots of them.

He takes walks with us..no leash
He goes camping...and loves to walk through the forest and take hikes with us.
He listens when you say come or leave....
Hes very vocal and talks to us.

But hes so loving....like a baby kinda.

The funniest things hes done is yell at me. he was getting into something and making tons of noise. SO I threw my slipper near the wall in back of him to scare him away. he took off. I sat back down and here he comes with his tail straight in the air. He walked up to me and let out this long loud howl....like a dog or something...and then turned away and took off.
He was mad at me and didnt appreciate me scaring him....lol....it was something I never seem before

Duffy is a very good companion. He is a happy dog and is always in the mood for some tickle fun and faux biting games. He makes an old man very happy.

We have two dogs, Shadow is mine Smile My wife questioned why we would want to name our brand new Shetland Sheepdog 'Shadow' my reply was a simple because when he gets older he's going to shadow us everywhere. And he does! Shelby is our adopted mixed breed. Not quite as refined as her older step brother, but she tries...most the time. They are best friends, totally at ease with one another.
I think any dogs best trait is their ability to forgive and forget (if only that could be taught to humans). As Cat Stevens once sang "I love my dog, as much as I love you...though you may fade, my dog will always come thru". I have a puppy DVD I made up with Shadow, I use thiat song as my background music Smile

A couple years ago we had to put our little girl dog down. I figured with building our new home that this was it as far as dogs...Actually, I hoped that this was it with the carpeting and our age catching up on us....I was shocked when my husband wanted another dog, but because he is so good to me and I cannot say no to him, I gave in.... We drove a couple of hours to a breeder of Yorkies...We had decided to change breeds this time...We put down money on the last little girl they had as they were just five weeks old.... Three days later my husband was mowing the lawn and he rang the doorbell....He asked if he could have her twin brother....I said absolutey not, shut the door and called the breeder....So now we have twins....Charlie and Cassie...I adore them...but I would have given them to any stranger many times....I think we went through four Spot Bott's getting them trained...We actually went to a dog trainer as they were just plain horrible...We were supposed to go three times but once was bad enough so we decided to put the fear of God in them...Just the sound of the newspaper slamming on the table did it......

To get them far away from the Master Bedroom, they sleep in the library...Started this right off...I had no intention of hearing dogs crying during the night...Each has their own cage...They used to have cages in the Breakfast Room too, but finally are on their own...You have no idea of what twins can get into...Each morning when my husband lets them loose, they come out racing to beat the other....They come down the long hallway past the foyer then circle around the sofa in the Great Room and head to the porch to go outside....Why, they take the long way I will never know....Ever heard two dogs fighting to be first to get out....Barking and running as hard as they can....The little girl will often cry if she doesn't win...Actually, bite him in the tail... It sounds and looks just like the Kentucky Derby each morning at my house.... Nobody knows what it is like trying to bring up our twins, but how we love them.... The nice thing about it is that they will remain small and the bad thing is I am a marshmallow in their hands, but I think you all know this....Now that the law has really been laid down, they are doing great....Between you, I and this computer,I never would have let them go....The boy is all light brown and beautiful and the girl is brown and black....She picks on him and owns him....They own us...They rule the house... We are puppets....

In the evening around ten when we put them down,I wonder what it would be like growing old without all this commotion in our life... We are both lost somewhere in this paradise of fun, dogs and being in love.....

Take care,
Caroline
