Wow, someone has herself convinced that unwanted pregnancy only occurs in women that screw random strangers. Why am I not surprised. Here's some free advice for you before I banish you from my screen, Jellybean: You should get away from PLA. Insane people corrupt young minds. There are prolife communities out there that aren't full of terrorism advocates and complete misogynists. It would be a better environment for you.

Why do you feel that a woman who sleeps around would be less careful when protecting herself from pregnancy then a woman who is in a relationship?

Juju, when I conjure up an image of what you look like, and the type of person you are, I do get a very positive image. You are the type of person that will always fight for the underdogs and the oppressed.
Try not to judge though. Married woman who take every precaution not to fall pregnant should not be placed in the same category as women with ‘questionable reputations’.

You missed my point, I think. The point is, everyone was complaining about how men sleep around and never take responsibility. When women are allowed to have an abortion at will, they are doing exactly what men are doing: doing whatever they want and not having to pay at all for it. To me, it is degrading!

And WHY should I get away from there? I don't agree with any of those people on there that think bombing abortion clinics and all that stuff is right! That's so wrong and I would never support that. stop blaming my views on a website you don't like, because they have nothing to do with it.

Do you feel women should have to "pay" for having sex by carrying on with a pregnancy? Pregnancy should not be a punishment for having sex. If a woman does not want to continue being pregnant, she has the right to an abortion if that is her choice.

What if the woman was in a commited relationship? What if she's happily married and does not want to be a parent? Is she supposed to never have sex with her husband simply because other people would look down on her if she were to have an abortion? What if her birth control fails? What if she was raped? What if the pregnancy is dangerous to continue, or she has to stop treatment for an illness or condition because it's unsafe for a fetus? Would you still call these women "sluts"?

Nope, I pretty much understood your point. I just don't quite understand why you would use the word "sluts". This is the part of your original post that confused me:

You first speak about men not taking responsibility, then say that abortion gives woman the same right by being able to be "sluts" like the men. I fail to see the correlation between responsibility and promiscuity. A married man can walk away from his pregnant wife just as easily as a man who has multiple partners and one night stands can walk away from a pregnant "fling". I understood your point, but the way you worded it doesn't make much sense. It just seemed to me that you implied that "sluts" are the ones having abortions.

Right, because all women who have abortions are "sluts". You've never had an abortion, so you have no idea what goes into it. You obviously have no idea that an abortion can cost up to 500$, so no, we don't get to run around and not pay for it. You don't understand anything about abortion because you're already claiming women can run around and just get abortions without batting a lash. You've obviously never been a women in a long term committed relationship who got pregnant while protecting themselves. Try calling me a promiscuous person to my face because I got an abortion and we'll see how far you get.

I was at risk for being pregnant and considered abortion as the solution a while back. Why was I at risk? I was in a monogamous relationship. I'd only ever had sex with one man. I simply messed up with my birth control - it happens a lot.

Any woman who has sex, even if she is married, is at a risk for pregnancy and thus, any woman can abort.

Not a person, aochriss...just women. Patriarchal society has rendered a lot of people horrified by the thought of females enjoying/wanting sex. It's not ladylike to have needs of our own or to act on them without producing babies as a result.

Ok, I am going to bash this fantasy you live in that you think all pro life people think women are just for having babies. Because I don't.
Sex is fun, sure it is. That's fine; why would we want that taken away? I believe in abstinence, saving yourself for marriage. In this world, though, not many people agree with me.

I think everyone here missed my point once again! I was talking about men who sleep around and just do whatever they want sexually knock a girl up and leave; you are talking about people who are different than that, I think. Though I don't agree with BC or contraceptives either.
