yogurt for 6 year bv infection
I'm severely allergic to chemicals which I believe has been the culprit for my episode of bv going on6 years now!!!!! I have eliminated almost all chemicals possible but the bv is still going strong! Its a very musty smell, anyone have this musty odor with bv? My symptoms never go away but the swab test at the Dr always comes back negative and so do all other tests... I'm trying yogurt and vitamin d tablets now I will update with any progress.

Rephresh and yogurt are totally different treatments, one isn't better than the other I don't think. I just read this in another thread on here:

"I had the fishy smell, it happened more often after sex (with exposure to semen) and then got to the point where it would smell for weeks after sex and then start to fade.

I got tested for BV, yeast, and STDs - all negative. Soon after the negative results, sure enough, the stink came back with sex.

Found from online research that plain live culture yogurt: fights not only yeast but also BV, and has a Ph very similar to the vagina. And after hearing that semen is alkaline and can upset the vaginal flora, I decided to try using yogurt immediately after sex each time he comes in me.

I dip a cottonball in yogurt, tuck it in, and remove it the next morning. Since I've tried this, there has been no stink. Fresh and yummy again, finally!"

To the OP about yogurt, posting for those who come later. "Dosent this yogurt thing decompose inside of your vagina??? and if It does decompose in there, isn't this going to cause worms!!????"

No, your vagina cleans itself out, it won't be in there forever! And for a bit of science--worms don't come from decomposition. They only come from where flies lay eggs. Just make sure that gruesome thing doesn't happen!! O_O I understand that the "good" bacteria in yogurt helps balance things out.

I inserted yogurt over a few days for my BV and it totally worked too! Am currently doing it again for a mild yeast infection. I've found that the very easiest way to apply is to use a plastic 10 ml syringe (without a needle, just the tube part!!). Using this, you can suck up the yogurt into the syringe and get a lot (the whole 10 mls) and then insert the syringe into your vagina as deep as you can go and then slowly inject it in. A lot less messy and it stays in better. Make sure to wear a pad or panty liner as it will eventually leak out a bit but I've found leakage to be very minimal and to be more thick than watery so it's not too bad and not uncomfortable (especially if you use cloth pads, sooo much more comfy than disposable!!). Good luck!

Not sure, I haven't had sex with it inserted. I insert at night and immediately after sex and I use alot of it after sex. As far as helping him with yeast I don't see where it would hurt.

I was having an issue for the 1st time in my life at the age of 32 with an odor problem. I was stumped as to what to do and kept douching and using ph cleansers to only have the smell get increasingly more noticeable. I was to the point where I could smell it when I was using the restroom and even once when I was having sex with my boyfriend. That was the final straw, because I knew if I could smell it so could he. I started looking around on the Internet and came across using yogurt. I will admit, I am pretty lazy so the fact that I already had the plain, organic yogurt in my fridge was a huge selling point for me. I tried the tampon method, which would be dunking the tampon and then inserting and I found that to be quite messy. The second day I tried another method, I used one of my douche bottles, emptied and rinsed out. I removed the wand from the bottle, inserted the wand into the yogurt and kind of sucked it into the tube of the wand. I then reattached the wand to the empty bottle and used the air in the bottle to force all the yogurt out of the wand. It worked wonders and I had no cleanup issues (oh did all this in the shower). I have only been doing it for 3 days now and I can tell a 99% difference in the smell! It works fantastic!!! Even to the point where just a few days ago if I were to touch myself then let my fingers dry I would smell a fishy smell on my fingers but now when I do that there is NO SMELL on my fingers. Sooooo happy I came across this tidbit. I can't wait to have sex with my boyfriend again Very Happy

bv
I've had bv for the last month, along with kidney & bladder infections.. After taking all the antibiotics I still have a little bit of pain, I've Bern with the same person for almost 3 years. Everything happened after my miscarriage on Easter. I've been doing research and started D3, homeopathic bv capsules, eating plain organic unsweetened yogurt. So now after all my research I'm left with trying yogurt soaked tampons. Hopefully something works soon. I've made another appointment with my doctor. I've had many ultrasounds and pelvics to make sure the miscarriage finished and it did. I also just had my first period which was very heavy for 2 days now I'm just spotting off and on.

Plain yogurt for vaginal candidiasis
I suffered from vaginal candidiasis and the symptoms brought too much discomfort. I used yogurt home treatment remedy by instilling 20cc of plain yogurt intravaginally for 10 days. With the use of 10cc syringe with needle removed, aspirate plain yougurt and instill 10cc intravaginally and another 10cc after and hr and say bye bye to all the itch and discomfort.
