Q: Yellow spot on eye

I've never bothered asking a doctor but I have a yellow spot on my eye that's been there since I was born. It's not directly on my pupil, rather on the side where it is supposed to be white.

It is only on one eye and has never really done anything to me, but I really want to know what it might be. Does anybody know?

This could be a pinguecula (degeneration of the collagen fibres), a yellow patch at the sclera, the white part of the eye, usually on the side of the eye that is closest to the nose.
Its appearance is in direct correlation with UV exposure.
