Alright, well. The itching and stuff has been going on for a while, since bout november. But, it didn't get that bad, until about a week before my last period. and I couldn't stop itching. After I got my period, the itching sensation went down by a lot, but now there's white stuff around my labia. And, on some days there's enough it stains, sometimes white stain others clear, and on other days, it's only around my clit, not on the lips.
But it's still kinda itchy, and I think it's swollen. oh, and it's weird, but it only gets itchy at night. Idk, could this be a yeast infection? or is it normal?

please help, I'm very concerned. and I don't really know if it's serious enough to ask my doctor.

Thank you.

Hi there,
It sounds like a yeast infection. Sometimes that can be a pain and last a while if you don't take anything for it...go to the local drugstore and pick up a monistat pill/cream- there are lots over the counter things for yeast infections. I think there is even something to "test" your discharge PH-balance to see if it is a yeast infection... I'm sure it will heal soon:)

That's most definitely a yeast infection! Thats exactly what I have. I have quite a bit of white chunky stuff down there. I have had a yeast problem for many years now. I take diflucan right now 1x a week but its not helping. Sad

hello
This may come off to be a shocker but I wouldn't recommend taking diflucan or monistat. Now, they may remove some of the itching and discharge but your yeast infections will keep coming back again and again.
The reason is very simple. Your not treating the root of the problem. Just simply by taking some antibiotic, kills everything good or bad in your digestive tract. This creates a candida overgrowth which is a fungus. Allowing bad bacteria to over populate not allowing good bacteria to thrive. This not only creates more yeast infections but it also creates more problems with elimination.

I hope this helps

What if you take healthy bacterial cultures along with Monistat to treat a yeast infection, such as Lactobacillis acidophilus...spelling? That should replace the healthy bacteria if it is a pill with enough live cultures in it.
I suspect that I have a yeast infection as well. I am not entirely sure how I got it though; I didn't have sex and I am not pregnant. I haven't been on antibiotics either.
There must be other ways right?
Do the occur from sex-- intercourse-- specifically? Or just from "messing around"?

Vaginal infections are usually diagnosed based on symptoms of a woman and a gynecological examination by a doctor. In some cases, a slide test can be administered by a doctor. This test examines the vaginal secretions of a woman for the presence of the yeast.
Vaginal infections can be treated with over-the-counter (OTC) or prescription drugs. They come in different forms such as creams, ointments and suppositories which are inserted directly into the vagina and applied topically for the relief of symptoms. oral medications May also be used, but they are only available through prescription.
