This past Sunday (Jun 29th) I started feeling some itching around my vagina. It was very slight and didn't concern me much. It got a little worse as the days went by, and by Wednesday I was quite uncomfortable, so I started researching symptoms of a yeast infection and other vaginal health problems. I read through many sources and found that my symptoms match most with that of a yest infection; the clitoris hood and vaginal lips are swollen, the entire vulva area is bright red, and I itch and burn. I also read through some of the things that can cause such an infection, like antibiotics. I was on them for a bladder infection, and finished the strain 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure that it would take that long for the infection to develop. What I think happened is that one started developing for whatever reason, but then worsened after Tuesday; at work [I work for my college campus greenhouse/grounds crew] I had to drive one of the small vehicles around campus, and that particular one is very hot and not well ventilated.... in short I was sweating in places that you don't normally sweat. I worked with that vehicle from 12:30 until 3, with one short break in between. I was unable to dry the area or change until I got home after 4:30.

So like I said, on Wednesday I started researching those symptoms and found that they match most with a yest infection. What I did then was call my step-mom to ask her about it, and she said to get Monistat. Off to the store I went, and got the 3 day treatment. I started it that night when I went to bed. After injecting the cream, I had to stand for a couple minutes to take out my contacts, and I could feel it starting to shift, so I hurried into bed to lay down. About 3 hrs later I had to get up to go pee, and when I did a glob of the cream fell out. I don't think it was all of it, as there was still a considerable amount in the opening of my vagina and around the lips, so I just went back to bed. I got up around 5:30 or 6 Thursday morning to find a lot of discharge, which I figured was from using the Monistat... I had wondered what would happen to the cream ... So I wiped up some of the excess and changed into clean underwear. Everything was fine for a while... I still felt some discomfort, but it wasn't too bad. Later that afternoon, I went to go pee, and after I had urinated the area around my clitoris hood burned with an ungodly horror, and made me cry. I dabbed away the urine, and still burned for a few minutes... then I felt some discharge coming out and the burn went away. I was still a bit uncomfortable, but it felt a lot better than that burning. My clitoris hood is so swollen that the pee comes out at a strange angle, sort of pointing out instead of going straight down or back, so I try to spread my lips and lean back so the urine won't touch anything while I pee. So I've been doing that, but last night it got me again, and I continued to cry for a while after that....

But anyway, last night I got ready for bed, and took the monistat applicator to bed with me. I injected the cream while laying down in bed, so I wouldn't have to stand again and risk the cream shifting down too far (I also had a trash bag by the bed to throw away the applicator). A few hours later I had to get up and pee again, which I did, and nothing fell out that time. That made me feel a little better, so I went back to sleep. When I got up this morning, there wasn't much discharge as there was the morning before.... so I'm not really sure what caused that to happen.

Okay, so I am through 2 of the 3 nights of this treatment, and I am still swollen. Also, on Wednesday, I found a small light colored bump by the opening of my vagina. I didn't hurt, itch, or burn.... it was just there. That one has gone away, but I've had others develop on my lips, vulva, and now I have a couple much higher up, around my clitoris hood and even a bit above that. Now it's mostly that higher up area that has been bothering me. It is what burns so badly if I'm not careful when I pee, and it is what's so uncomfortable even now. The bumps didn't use to hurt when I first got one on Wednesday, but late yesterday evening I found more and they do hurt a little, and the ones higher up hurt the most. I want to know if these little tiny bumps are normal with a yeast infection, and how long will the swelling and burning last after I finish the 3 day monistat treatment? The bumps are small, they don't have an opening, and they don't have puss; they are just little, somewhat itchy, and will burn. I wanted to know if anyone in this forum has used monistat, and what was your experience with it, and if I messed up the whole process when that glob fell out on Wednesday night Sad

Also, on a side note... when I first started feeling a little itchy, before I thought anything was wrong, I did scratch some; a little bit around the vulva and some above the clitoris hood, that place that hurts the most now. I think some of that pain is just from me when I was rubbing that area. I think I made one spot a little bit raw.

I'm sorry this post is so long.... I wanted to make sure to mention everything that has happened so that someone might have an easier time helping me. Oh yeah.... I don't have a gynecologist; I have yet to be seen by one. I only have about $10 right now, won't get paid again until the 15th, and I'll probably end up using that money to buy a little bit of gas... I'm already running low. So, I don't have any money to visit a doctor right now, and I think that my dad has insurance for me, but I'm not sure, and if he does, I don't know anything about it, and I don't have a card for it. There is a health department near me, but I don't know if they'll charge me or ask for insurance or what so I can be seen..... There are not any free clinics near by, and I haven't looked for a planned parenthood yet, but I doubt that will be within a short driving distance for me.

I highly doubt that this is any sort of STD, unless your body can just produce one on it's own. I have had sex, with two different people. My first partner and I were both virgins. He had broken up with me, had sex with a different person, and then slept with me again... but that was over 10 months ago. My new boyfriend has been tested for everything, and it all came back negative. He and I have not been with anyone else since we started dating.

The swelling and redness has gone down, but the bumps are still there, and they still burn after I pee (everywhere now, not just the top). It hurts to come into contact with anything; I've been wearing my panties loose, so it won't rub, and it hurt to even slightly dab the affected area with toilet paper to remove the excess urine
