Hell,my daughter is 22 years of age, 5'2" and weights about 116. She has always been very active. She works full time(8-5,m-f)Attends college three days a week after work (6-10pm), she also finds time in her busy schedule to play softball and volleyball. She also does not eat red meat. No reason but that she does not like red meat.
She has had headaches for sometime now. She got to the point that her headaches made her sick to her stomach, she had a bad case of uncontrollable anxiety, feeling down and depressed, felt as if she had the flu, slight fever.... then she started shaking and the side of her head started pulsating you could see a circle on the side of her head where you seen the form of two veins and it was pulsing very fast. I took her to urgent care right away and they took her blood pressure and at that time the machine started going off(buzzing-beeping) her blood pressure was very high they took it again on the other arm to be sure and her readings were 198/107 pulse was 133.They gave her something to put under her tongue to bring it down. We had to stay there for sometime to watch her bp and then was sent home with meds for anxiety, and depression. Needless to say her bp did not stay down. The top number ran a 165-175 and the bottom number got up to 124 and her pulse stayed in the 100's. We have been to our family doctor which they did a EKG, blood and urine test. Nothing was found. and her family doctor put her on a bp med. We seen a psychologist for anxiety. We have also been to the ER twice (after seeing the family doctor) where they did two EKG, blood and urine test.. nothing was found. They gave her a shot of bp med and a shot of med for anxiety(ativan) which both helped bring her bp down to 110/65 pulse in the 60's. At that time they changed her bp that was 25 mg SR to the same med but it is not SR, to 25mg twice a day(12 hours apart)..... So she is now taking bp med in the morning and at night,a med three times a day for anxiety and med for depression. The out come is... Her bp is not where it was at the ER when they got it down. They want it to stay around 110-120 over 60's ... It has been running high 130's sometimes in the 140's and the bottom has been in the mid to high 90's and her pulse has been staying in the 60's.
What do I need to do?? No one is helping me. Family doctor had no answers as what to do next. Psychologist want to put it off on depression and anxiety(which I don't agree with may have part but not answer)Who do I turn to to get to the root of this problem? I want to be sure there is not a hidden underlined medical problem.
