2-years old baby is dying

Good heart, that's a hard decision to make. You really can't ask anyone who is not in your position to make a suggestion, you know what I mean? I'm not sure if that's what you are asking but it really is hard for a third party to know what the situation is like and make any judgments.
You guys can fight with Sofia and see how far it goes. Or you could end the fight to limit anymore emotional turmoil. It's a really hard call and my heart goes out to Sofia's family and support.
