From what I have heard, you either have to be emancipated or have your parents consent before you are 18.

I believe that will depend on what state you live in. To my knowledge, a 15 year old would need parental consent. In my case, at 16, I had to go to court with my mother, letters of consent from my pastor/priest, no criminal record (I'm not sure why on that), and proof that we (me & my husband who was 21) were supporting ourselves, etc.
