I have no idea where/ how you would get the pill in Singapore but I can answer some of your other questions. (By the way, yaz.com can answer many of your questions and even has sections for different countries.)
You begin taking the pink active pills. After seven days, the pill is effective. The first seven days that you take the pill, you will need to use another form of birth control. You take one pill a day at the same time everyday. It is very important that you follow this rule. Taking the pill in the morning one day and at night the next day can lessen the effectivenes of the pill. There are 24 active pills and 4 white inactive pills which will cause you to have a period.
All birth control pills increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and blood clot. Some of the other side effects may include nausea, weight gain...
Hope this helps.

I want to make something clear: the birth control pill only increases the chance of heart attack, stroke and blood clots. I have never heard of anyone having any of the three because of taking the pill unless they had a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, blood clots... So, if you have never experienced any of these, chances are slim that they would happen to you. Also, smoking and age dramatically increase the chances of these three illness, so smokers and women aged 35 or older who take the pill are much more likely to suffer from the three.
I think you would be safest with the use of the condom and an additional form of birth control such as hormonal birth control pills or spermicide.
But that's just my opinion.
