Q: Yaz cause clots ?

I've been on Depo-Provera for the last year, and I'm looking to change birth control. My doctor recommended Yaz - so, naturally, I did some research. I haven't started on Yaz yet, and I'm not sure I want to.

Every site I go to (including this one) mentions a LOT of problems with developing clots in the legs and lungs - more than any other birth control I've researched.

Does anyone have experience with this matter? And if I don't switch to Yaz, what are some trusted contraceptives I could look into?

Thanks.

These concerns are something you should bring up with your doctor, especially if you have a family history, smoke, or anything other reason that would put you at risk.

If you don't want Yaz, then explain why and ask for alternatives.

Some women adore Yaz and some have immediate problems with it, but it seems like any other pill to me. I haven't found any information saying your risks are any higher than other birth control pills.
