hi im on yaz birth control and i just started an antibiotic for and UTI but i only took one pill, i had sex the day before i started it and now i'm concerned because i heard sperm can live inside you for up to a week. he used a condom but he took it off, so i think there was some precum, but he pulled out so no actual cum. i was just wondering what i should do? so far i've stopped taking the antibiotics, although i will need to start them at some point because the UTI needs treated

You better start taking the pills again. Just be careful from now on while your on the antibiotics. I'm sure your fine from that one incident. But if your not taking the medication then your UTI can get worse and cause more problems. You only need to not have intercourse or use a condom until about 24 hours after you last pill, some say not even that. But my boss always says to wait the 24 hours to be on the safe side. Hope this helps. I also hope you are feeling better!

thanks so much, im a really paranoid person and i had a few panic attacks over it, you have no idea how much you've helped. But i was also wondering if birth control and the antibiotic together could make me sick. i had a very bad allergic reaction to the antibiotic including throwing up, extreme diarrhea and very bad anxiety. Could that be the combination of the two or just the antibiotic? thanks!

Hey there sorry I havn't been on here for awhile. I would say you had a reaction to the antibiotic. Two put together usually doesnt give you a reaction, it's one or the other. And since you hadn't had a reaction to the bc its probably the antibiotic! Or you just had a touch of the flu. Hope this helps!
