I have been taken microgynon as contraception but am changing my pill to Yasmin. I went to see the nurse today and was prescribed Yasmin. I am currently on my 7 day break. I took my last pill on thursday and I would of been due to take my next microgynon pill on friday. The nurse said it would be fine to take my first Yasmin pill today, I just wanted to make sure this is ok, as in the booklet it says wait untill the end of the break.

What is the best option?

I am a bit confused by your post-- how many days passed WITHOUT you taking any hormone pills? Placebo pills do NOT count.

Basically, if you took your 7 days of placebo pills but then lengthened the time before you started your new pills, you should wait at least 7 days while on the new pills before having sex without a barrier method. This is because the longer time without hormones could have caused you to ovulate; if you have had the new pills in your system for at least 7 days, you are completely protected again.
