I'm just ending my first back of Yasmin, so I'm on my sugar pills and started my period yesterday. Without the pill, my period is regular and pretty light, but right now it's INSANELY heavy! And I've had spotting every day since I started the pills. Basically I just feel like I've been on my period for a month. Is this a normal side effect, and will it subside once my body adjusts? I'm already anemic, and I'm worried this excessive bleeding will make it worse.

Anyone have suggestions / experiences to share?

Hey girl. I started my first pack of yasmin about 3 wks ago. I didnt have a period for 6 months and my doctor put me on it so i would start. i had horrible side effects from it. extremely bad cramps and moodiness, which could be in part to not having it for so long, but i stopped taking them 2 days prior to the white pills and started the next day. i had extremely heavy bleeding that lasted for 5 days. I've heard that yaz has some bad side effects but like everything else, its different for everyone. Most people as well as my personal doctor say it takes 2 to 3 packets to get you on track. hope this helps in some way.
