YASMIN (generic name: drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) is a birth control pill used as an oral contraceptive. Yasmin is taken in the following manner: yellow tablets that contain monophasic combined hormonal preparation for 21 days and white inert tablets for seven days. It is very important for the period between two consecutive pills not to exceed 24 hours.

The drop in the hormone levels would initiate the menstrual period. Since this menstrual period is orchestrated by somewhat different hormonal levels than the usual fluctuations, it might be sometimes possible not to detect the usual premenstrual signs. However, if you miss the period completely you might want to visit your gynecologist for additional examinations.
