I am 41 and 6.5 weeks pregnant. For the last 9 days, I have had light bleeding every day, hAving to wear panty liner every day/ night. Mostly dark brown, but occassionaly red when I wipe. Having a scan tomorrow. The doc and hospital say it sounds like a threatened miscarriage. Took another pregnancy test today, positive. Anyone got any advice please. I'm a bit worried and not sure if this bleeding will ever stop!

Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. This light bleeding can be due to brownish spotting due to corpus luteum defect in early pregnancy which requires supplementation of progesterone hormone.

Take complete bed rest and avoid any strenous activity. If the intensity of bleeding increases or it is associated with cramps then please get evaluated for any miscarriage from a gynecologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
