Ok...so all my life I have battled anxiety and depression. Taken medicine, seen doctors. Ever since I was little I have had chest pain, tightness, shortness of breath, etc. The older I get the worse it gets My job is super stressful and it gives me anxiety even thinking of work, even when im not there. Medicine is not helping the problem and as everyone knows there are no jobs so I cant just quit mine. Its becoming impossible for me to go to work, and Im not sure what to do about it? Has anyone ever had this problem...

Hello. I have had the similar problem. I've taken medication, had therapy, and etc. And I feel that those treatments weren't helping. So, I have found something else that I feel works. I took a concept from some martial arts such as tai chi and bagua. Life is about balance. One must balance their tasks so that they don't become over burdened or become too laxed. Try to balance your life and thusly you'll feel like you're getting a handle over your life.

i m in an 18year battle with depression, ive taken prozac and went to therapy. i stop taking the prozac b/c i first would feel like a zombie and then my body got used to it. i was told i couldve let my therapist give me something else or a stronger dose. anti-depressants doesnt boost your serotonin levels like st.johns worth or SAMe would. the therapy helped, i really needed to talk to someone.
my job was stressful and i would get migraines like every other day. my old job got so bad that i prayed and said "God you have to do somethnig" and i was laid off, received unemployment for 9 months.
you have to deal with the stress at your job, or you have to attempt to find another one. you cant live like that.

Working with depression
A professor of mine always used to say "It's not worth staying at a job that is killing you just for the health benefits".

Stress plays a HUGE role with depression. You can take all the pills you want, but the meds won't fix your job, right? Deal the cause/root of the problem.

Let me explain a little something about stress and mood. Most of the serotonin (a neurotransmitter involved with depression/anxiety and other emotions) is found in your intestinal tract. Until recently it was thought to be mainly in the BRAIN, as this neurotransmitter affects brain function. When you have too much serotonin in your gut you get feelings of anxiety, and symptoms of diarrhea (ever have diarrhea due to anxiety?). On the opposite side, if you have too little serotonin on the gut you get feelings of depression and therefore constipation! My point is that although you need to take care of the stress itself, make sure your bowels are functioning properly as well, as this may help with dealing with the SYMPTOMS of depression.
Start off with a simple fiber supplement. It will make loose stools firm, hard stools soft and it is also implicated in helping lower cholesterol.
Hope this helps.
