Im 32 weeks and for the past week I had cramps in the morning manly but some in the afternoon alonge with green loose stool. It sometimes goes in my back . Is this normal?

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

Cramping, feeling pain in the back, and loose stool can be a sign of labor. I know 32 weeks is a bit too early, but babies are known to be born early and thrive.

Walk around or change position and see if the contractions stop or slow down. If they do it is a false alarm. Also such false contractions are felt only in lower abdomen and pelvis and not in the back. Their force does not increase with time. Such contractions are also called Braxton Hick’s contractions.

If the pains do not fit the above criteria, please consult an obstetrician immediately. Since I cannot examine you I cannot confirm anything for sure. So please be in touch with your obstetrician on a regular basis. Hope this helps. Take care!
