Q: Withdrawal Bleeding on OCPs

This is a question that has bugged me for a long time and I've never gotten a straight answer...

Withdrawal bleeding while on OCPs is NOT a true period. I get that.

BUT

If a woman were to get pregnant while taking OCPs, would her withdrawal bleed still occur during her non-hormonal pills (the 4 or 7 at the end of the cycle)?

Basically, is the withdrawal bleed an indication that there is no pregnancy, just like a normal period?

The withdrawl bleeding is still your uterine lining that sheds due to a drop in hormones. If you were pregnant, there wouldn't a big enough drop and the lining wouldn't shed.

So yeah, withdrawl bleeding is still an indication of no pregnancy. Smile
