hi everyone,

I got my wisdom teeth removed about 19days ago. i'm still having pain in one of the areas, and the stitches haven't dissolved at the bottom yet, this is the area thats sore. Is this normal or should i go back to the dentist?

the top extractions and stitches have dissolved within 5 days, but the bottom ones haven't.
Should i go back to the dentist?
He did say they'd dissolve?

Thanks

You may have a dry socket...Call him about this as he will probably want to see you...I, too, have had one of these...Take care..

Hey Caroline,

Thanks for the reply, just checked the symptoms and don't seem to have them all just the pain really, and was wondering should I be concerned about the stitch not dissolving?

No, I wouldn't worry about the stitch as they will dissolve by themselves...The pain is what you watch...Throbbing hurt...Take care..

If the pain is not substantial, its likely not something to worry about. Depending on how difficult to tooth removal was, the gums in the area can be tender for weeks. Keep the area as clean as you can. If pain persists for much longer I would see your dentist asap to make sure the site is not infected. Hope that helps.
