Wisdom teeth extraction and TMJ

I've had TMJ for a couple years now, and after having only mild success with my orthodontist I decided to get a second opinion with a dentist who specializes in TMJ. My new dentist thinks that my TMJ may be caused by the extraction of my wisdom teeth, which happened around the time my first symptoms began to appear... Also, he noticed that the inside of my mouth (near the back) is incredibly sensitive when prodded, and he concluded that the extraction of my wisdom teeth caused an infection, which has been persistent for years now. I don't have any symptoms like pus or bleeding or anything like that, just serious inflammation, and anti-inflammatory medicine has done nothing for me.

He is now recommending injections of ozone and vitamin B into the bone to deal with the infection. Although I've heard very good things about this doctor, I'm a bit concerned because of how unconvential his methods are; he seems to be very much in favor of "hollistic" and "naturopathic" approaches.... Also, from what I've read, the use of ozone is controversial.

Has anyone else had problems such as TMJ and infection as a result of wisdom teeth extraction? If so, has antibiotics or ozone been an effective treatment for you?

Thanks!

There are cases when the energy required to extract lower wisdom teeth could cause trauma in the TMJ. But generally this is short in duration. I've never heard of ozone and vitamin B into the bone. If the DDS feels this is the source of pain, I would ask him to place a little local anesthetic in the area and see if your pain goes away.

TMJ
Hi ...I don't have TMJ...but yrs of other health issues..I have studied for yrs holisic nutrition and would like to strongly suggest using Super Silver internaly for any type of infection ( not colodial Silver) and Magnesium Chloride ( it's liquid you put on externally to be absorbed best) or take 300mg -500mg of Chelated Magnesium.
