Q: will prozac harm fetus?

Hi I'm new ...... umm so I'm pregnant for the second time. The first time i had an abortion. but my question is I'm on prozac for my Depression and I'm just wondering if i should keep taking it or will it harm my baby ?

When I became pregnant with my last son I was on Prozac and I quit taking it when I found out I was pregnant. Best thing to do is talk to your OB and the prescribing doctor to find out if you need to stop taking it.

I go to the doctor on the 15th of October to find out if i should quit taking it thank you for your reply .

well thats quit a ways away... i would just call, they will talk to the doctor for you and let you know... thats what i did with all my meds

That's a month from now. You should call him and ask over the phone instead of waiting so long to be seen.

i wasnt aware you could just call and ask .... but thanks i will do that tomorrow .... form what the internet says it should be fine but i just really dont want to screw this up thanks for the replys by the way

It is very important that you call immediately, because the first trimester is the most dangerous time for a developing embryo with respect to being harmed by medications. Also, if you take prozac during the third trimester the newborn might have withdrawal symptoms when it's delivered.

You absolutely can call your doctor's office any time 24/7.
