I have had TMJ for over 20 years, and one of the no no's is chewing gum, eating tough pieces of meat, or anything that works the jaw excessively. I don't thnk anything cures it, but I was was eduated well by an orthodontist about OTHER things than can have an effect:
Keep your sinuses clear (a stuffy nose makes things worse), get enough sleep (or you may feel fatigue and pain the next day), lie down if you can during the day for few minutes (the head is very heavy to begin with.
Massage your jaw with a warm/ hot wash cloth daily to relax the clenched area, and take ibuprofen or aspirin (anit inflamatory meds) .there are also some good exercises you can find almost anywhere. HOPe this hops someone.a ust now trying the glucosssamin/condroitin AND at thesame time put on my air purifier- smoke will make everythng worse! HTH some of you out there
