Okay so heres the deal, I always take my pill regualrly etc... well last night I went to take my pill and took it out of the package (I had just put lotion on) it slipped out of my fingers and went down the drain :(

I paniced and took fridays pill. Will in the end missing that one pill screw me up?

I know I am a mod and all and I preach taking birth control and sticking with it.

I am not asking in reguards to pregnancy though, since I am not having any sex currently.

I am wondering in terms of my monthly cycle.

I think you'll be fine. It may throw your cycle off for a day or possibly two. Carifairy in birth control will totally know the answer though!! She is a Goddess when it comes to knowing all there is to know and more about birth control!

You should definitely be alright. If anything, you'll just bleed a day or so earlier but when you start your next pack everything should get right back on track.

Ive several times missed my last pill of the month and been just fine but when you call a nurseline they tell you to have an extra pack on hand... which is just kinda weird.

Why is that weird, and how can you get an extra pack?

Yeah I dont think the pharmacist would just give you an extra pack even if you paid for it? Maybe if you went in twice to a free clinic? But even then they are suppose to keep track of it. I know I can only get one set a month from my pharmacist. Plus I wouldnt want to get like "an extra pack" from a clinic... knowing it would be a different brand with a different hormonal dosage

Things like this (losing a pill) MUST have happened to other women. You'd think a pharmacy would be able to replace one pill for you. Maybe???

I think because one pill makes such a non-difference... they don't care.

I must be getting brainwashed from this site, because so many girls claim to have gotten pregnant while on the pill because they "forgot just one" or "didn't take it at exactly the right time", etc.

Haha I think and would like to feel what Ingi meant was not about it being okay for a young teen girl who is sexually active to miss a pill, however with Josh gone, I am not having any sex this is all simply in worry of my period cycle!

If you lose, say, Friday's pill - and instead take Saturday's pill, the Sunday's pill is taken on Saturday and so on - you only short change yourself on a one day earlier period. Having back-up 'extra' pills around because of a one day earlier period seems a bit silly to me.

I didn't mean, by ANY MEANS that anyone should ever 'skip' a pill.

I actually have an extra pack all the time,my doctor writes me a prescription for 6 months worth of birth control,I go to the pharmacy and they ask me how many I want. It's cheaper to buy them all at once but I usually just take two at a time because I am horrible for putting things in 'safe' keeping and then forgetting where I put them.

I think it all depends on the type of birth control you have,I'm on Alesse 28 and I missed a pill while I was on vacation and it didn't affect my period at all.It still came at the right time and lasted the normal 2 days.

You will be fine ! One pill might make your period come earlier or a little late. It doesnt make such a huge impact though.
